Renfe series 730 dual-gauge hybrid train departing Madrid-Chamartin northbound on 15 March, 2013. These trains operate Alvia intercity services on both, UIC-gauge high speed lines (25kV AC) and Iberian gauge lines (3kV DC as well as non-electric). The trains were re-built from series 130 Talgo 250 train sets. Talgo 250 trains in turn were re-built as of 2007 from existing Talgo 7 train sets and newly built series 130 motor units.
